Welcome Party & Mehndi

This will be the start of our wedding events. Mehndi (or Henna) symbolizes positive spirits and good luck. Hindu wedding tradition calls for a Mehndi ceremony to be held prior to the wedding as a way of wishing the bride good health and prosperity.
The bride's wedding mehndi will include a hidden inscription of the groom's name on her palm! It is believed that if the groom does not find his name within the intricate patterns, the bride will be more dominant in the marriage ;)
We will be having a henna artist at the resort during this time for guests to get their mehndi done prior to the start of our wedding events!
The Welcome Party & Mehndi will be an outdoor event (weather permitting) at the Beach.

Prepare to get messy! The Haldi ceremony is a close-knit event where the bride and groom's family and friends come together to apply turmeric (haldi) on the bride and groom's face and body. Haldi cleanses and purifies the mind, body, and soul. This ceremony signifies an auspicious start for the bride and groom, marking the beginning of a new life together.
The Vidhi is four "poojas" or prayers performed prior to the wedding as pre-wedding ceremonies distinctively done during Gujarati Hindu weddings.
The Haldi & Vidhi will be an outdoor event (weather permitting) at the Starlight.

In the Gujarati culture, Garba is an eccentric evening celebrating the union of two families. It is typically performed in a circular pattern and characterized by a sweeping action from side to side.
Sangeet is a pre-wedding party where families and friends come together to sing, dance and celebrate the wedding festivities to come.
We invite all our guests to bring their best Garba and Bollywood dance moves to celebrate! Don't worry, we will have a few dancers to walk you through the routine/steps during Garba.
The Garba & Sangeet will be an indoor event at the Orion Ballroom.

The Baarat refers to the groom and a party of people consisting of his friends and family who accompany him to the bride's "house". The sister of the groom waves a pouch of coins over the head of the groom to keep away any bad luck or "evil eye". Get ready as there will be lots of music and dancing involved.
As Parth arrives at the venue, Drithi's family and friends welcome him and the rest of the Baraat with a lot of grandeur.
The wedding ceremony will take place promptly after.
Baarat is immediately followed by the Wedding Ceremony which will be an outdoor event (weather permitting) at the Starlight.

Baarat will be immediately followed by the Wedding ceremony. Our guests will not be required to change after the baarat for the wedding.
Our Wedding ceremony will include Drithi's Tamil traditions that consist of several important rituals. The wedding ceremony is performed beneath a decorated wedding altar called the "Mandap" which is represented by four pillars denoting our Parents.
Lunch will be provided after the wedding ceremony.
Every single ritual performed at the ceremony has a deep background and history in Tamil Brahmin weddings in South India. We're excited for our guests to witness a traditional South Indian wedding ceremony and ask that you fully immerse yourself in our culture during the rituals!
We will provide a detailed explanation on the significance of each tradition and the games we play during the wedding to follow along. However, if you are still curious and would like to familiarize yourself with our traditions, feel free to read the link below.
The Wedding Ceremony will be an outdoor event (weather permitting) held at the Starlight.
